Quercus Wilderness Area

Looking for a shady place to hike or camp?  Then Quercus (Latin for oak), Wilderness Area is the place for you.  Located 7 miles south of Oskaloosa off G71; this area is dominated by oak trees and many other hardwoods.  It is underlain by sandy soil similar to the Loess Hills in Western Iowa.  There are 5 primitive campsites adjacent to the trail that winds through the area; each provided with a fire ring and picnic table.
