Administrative Assistant

Job Description

The Administrative Assistant is a full-time non-exempt, at will employee of the Mahaska County Conservation Board.  This position will have a probationary period of six (6) months.  The Administrative Assistant carries out assigned routine duties relating to office operation, public information, and general administration under the supervision of the Executive Director.  The Administrative Assistant assists the Director and staff by completing special tasks and projects as assigned.  Tasks and projects include but are not limited to; general park maintenance such as mowing, trimming, and cleaning.  This position is responsible for performing janitorial duties in offices, restrooms, and nature center.  This position is also responsible for scheduling, inspections, collecting fees, and janitorial duties for the cabin facilities.  The Administrative Assistant shall track and schedule all rentals of watercraft, shelters, and agricultural habitat equipment. The position will also assist the Naturalist with public programs and management of social media and volunteer coordination.

Specific Duties:

Job Requirements

An associate degree as an Administrative Assistant or related field is required; or one to three years’ experience in a related field, or the equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
